I have recently discovered V&M (Vintage & Modern) and it’s now one of my favorite sites for finding funky antiques and eclectic collectibles. V&M gives the trade and savvy public insider access to some of the best shopping on the web. Top 10 Colour Trend 2013/14

I recently worked on the 'Top 10 Colour Trend 2013/14' for a client in the interior businessAt the beginning of last year I showed you some of the latest colors including these blue-peacock shades. Now, more than a year later these shades are ‘ready’ to take the commercial stage. You will notice this color popping up more and more. Blue shades were not in trend for a long time and just recently re-emerged in light of the 'nature - deep sea atmosphere - mermaid themes' that will pop up to the scene in the near future. More about this trend later.

Peacock Blues
I mentioned this shade when discussing Greens generally last year.  But for 2013/14 this really is the Tone to work with. It looks stunning with the root colors: dark blue, black and grey. Equally it can give some grounding to turquoise shades or intense blues. If you want to be ahead of the pack then look to combine dark blues with peacock and turquoise shades in combination with gold accents, crème and a deep electric blue (Y. Klein Blue).

Important to know:
There is much more to it when considering a new color for interiors. In order to meet the personality of the client it’s more important to select the right materials and qualities matching the typical characteristic of the selected shade. A lemon colored shade in shiny plastic tells a different story as the same shade used for a shaggy Flokati rug in combination with gold accents. Carefully selecting the proportions of colors displayed in your home will change instantly the mood.
